Cricket

LongMeadow's Rose Bay Cricket ("Cricket") ~ Photo taken at a few days after her six month birthday while she was completing her first "Started Dog Test". Cricket is from our Canvas & Mel Litter.

..."Well what a weekend for us!  Cricket passed both days in started and being the youngest dog at the trial.  She amazed many people and every time we came off the line we had an audience and clapping to boot.  On Saturday we had the ending of Ivan coming through the area and had sheets and sheets of hard rain all day long and it was cold.  There were whitecaps on the pond we were using and it was hard for the handlers to see the ducks in the water much less the dogs, but she plowed out there looking holding those shoulders and head out of the water and found the duck and came in.  Perseverance was the name of the game for her and for a young puppy to have it so strong and serious at her age is truly amazing not only to the gallery but to us.  Quiting is not an option for her when she knows there is a duck down.  Saturday was great in that bad weather but yesterday she was an old hat to the game she nailed all marks both in water and on land and the gallery went wild on her last water retrieve"...

Hey Laura, I had not seen your website and it is beautiful. You have it set up wonderful. Looked to see my Cricket listed. I miss her so much and was sitting here at work crying while reading what I had wrote you last year. I do love that little dog and just 2 more days left before I see her. We will keep her a week to run at Down East Hunt Test next week and then I will take her back for one more month. With what he has done with her and what I will finish with her this spring and summer she should be ready to run senior by this fall. Please again keep me in mind if you breed Apple to Canvas next year I would like to buy a female from that litter. I am very happy with Canvas breedings and loved Apple and Pia when we were up there. Phil and I decided we wanted a pup out of one of them and to Canvas if possible. As you can tell we are very pleased with Cricket. I will let you know next week what happens this weekend and I will be taking pictures and will send you some of her. Take care, Sudi
